Breeding. The register attributes selection during 1956–1979 to the Hangzhou Tea Research Institute and records national recognition in 1987.
Identity. Cuifeng is also listed as GSCT42. It is a separate cultivar from Cuiyu, the Taiwanese cultivar whose name is sometimes also translated with the word jade.
