The agriculture ministry identifies Chun’an’s Jiukeng as its origin. CNIPA’s Yangxian Xueya specification explicitly places Jiukeng among seed-propagated populations, alongside Qimen and Yixing material, rather than among the listed clones.
Zhongbai 1 was selected from an albino individual in a local Jiukeng population in Jiande. That does not make Jiukeng as a whole white-leaved. Population identity, the place where an individual was selected and the resulting cultivar are three separate pieces of information.
