Notes#
Identity. A 2018 cultivation standard records selection during 1961–1986 and provincial recognition in 1988.
Scope. Yinghong 9 names the cultivar and is also used for black-tea products. It is distinct from the broader Yingde black-tea origin designation.
Leaves and processing. The 2001 cultivar monograph (p. 106) describes very large, elliptic leaves and yellow-green young shoots densely covered in hairs. It lists both black tea and green tea as suitable uses. The cultivar name alone does not determine the processing category.
