The International Camellia Register reproduces the 2024 cultivar record: GPD茶树(2022)530050 and plant variety right 20050031. Registration and the older protection record are different events. Both 紫娟 and 紫鹃 occur in the botanical reference.
The profile supports green- and black-tea processing. Mature leaves may be green: purple young growth does not mean every leaf stays purple. Published leaf-size and sprouting classifications vary between older and newer accounts, so this entry avoids presenting either classification as universal. No health benefit is inferred from pigmentation.
