Identity and history#
The Ministry of Commerce museum traces the business to Zhang Changyi's Zhang Yuyuan shop in 1900, followed by a shop named Zhang Yiyuan in 1908. These explain two dates encountered in histories of the brand. Neither is established here as the incorporation date of Beijing Zhang Yiyuan Tea Co., Ltd.
Teas and brands#
Jasmine tea is its defining speciality; the museum describes Fujian spring green tea as the base and repeated scenting with fresh jasmine flowers. It identifies Longhao as a product launched in 2016 and also records a wider range of tea categories. A Beijing retail identity does not mean the leaf was grown in Beijing.
