Notes#

A local product and its raw material#

The protected product area covers sixteen villages in Jiangshan town, Xinluo district. The specification names local Longyan Xiebei tea material and describes large leaves. The specification does not identify a single named clone.

Yellow-green does not mean yellow tea#

Longyan’s cultural authority explicitly classifies Xiebei as pan-fired green tea. Its yellow-green appearance describes the leaf and liquor; the documented manufacture begins with fixation and does not specify a yellow-tea heaping stage.
