Names and ambiguities#

Qidan vs. Beidou as 'pure DHP'

Qidan and Beidou can both appear in offers labelled pure Da Hong Pao. That shared sales description does not establish that the plants are the same clone or descend from the same numbered mother bush. See Da Hong Pao.

Notes#

Reports connect Qidan with numbered Da Hong Pao mother bushes at Jiulongke. We have identified the cited 2010 paper by Zhan Zijin, but have not verified its original sampling and results. Exact equivalence to bushes No. 2 and No. 6 therefore remains unconfirmed here. See Da Hong Pao for the distinction between the cultivar, mother-bush tea and commercial blends.
