Definition#
Production run number. Dayi used three digits (e.g. 701 = 2007, first batch) and later four (2201 = 2022, first batch); other factories often print a pressing date instead. Batches of the same recipe can differ markedly.

Common confusions#
- Read as a quality code.
- Menghai 2012 batches are three-digit (201); 2013 batches circulate as both 301 and 1301; four digits (1401, 2201) are the norm from 2014. Chinese Wikipedia notes the year and batch digits became irregular after 2003.
