Notes#
The company traces its origin to Wang Anshang (王俺尚), who came from Jinjiang, Fujian, and opened a Tainan tea shop in 1862. A contemporary 2003 account describes the new Taipei shop on Changchun Road, opened late in 2002. The company dates its move to the Zhongshan North Road flagship to the end of 2012 and describes Wang Junqin (王俊欽) as the fifth-generation heir. Its stated approach is to select teas and adapt charcoal roasting to each tea. Its store directory, checked in October 2026, lists branches in Taiwan, Shanghai, Chengdu, Suzhou and Tokyo. The company’s account of the 1862 origin does not establish uninterrupted operation across the intervening years.
