Notes#

Yellowing between pan stages. Zhongguo mingchazhi (2000, pp. 498–499) describes heated leaf resting under cover between stages of pan work, followed by further shaping and drying. The curved leaf form accompanies a deliberate yellowing process; liquor colour alone does not define the category.

Names and scope. Luyuan is the historical local name discussed here. Contemporary accounts also use Yuan’an yellow tea for a wider regional identity. These should not become duplicate profiles simply because the wording differs, and the historical account does not establish today’s protected production boundary.
