proper/true + mountain
Definition#
'Proper mountain': a claim of authentic core origin. It is best known in 正山小种 (Lapsang souchong), where it denotes the Tongmu area of the Wuyi nature reserve. In yancha writing it occasionally appears as a broader counterpart to waishan; TeaDB notes it can cover non-rock teas, unlike zhengyan.
