Identity and history#
The Tea Research Institute identifies Hangzhou Longguan Industrial Co., Ltd. as its joint venture with CNNP China Tea. Both the institute and the company trace its predecessor to the local state-owned Hangzhou Longjing Tea Farm, founded in 1950. That farm date is not the incorporation date of the present company.
Teas and brands#
Longjing is the main product family. The company lists Yulianxin, Jinwanding, Muwanding and Longguan Chayu lines, as well as jasmine- and osmanthus-scented extensions. A Longguan brand name alone does not identify a particular garden, harvest or West Lake Longjing provenance; those belong to the specific product.
