Identity and history#
The March 2021 salon report documents a tasting of 2007 and 2021 ripe examples supplied by Fuhai. It attributes the first production to 2006. These establish a continuing line; the first-production date remains a reported manufacturer-history claim in a transcript not reviewed by its speakers.
Reading the name#
Do not decode 72 as a verified 1972 recipe date. The report itself rejects that automatic reading and labels an alternative digit explanation as hearsay. Neither explanation is promoted here to established fact. Compare Menghai 7262 as a different producer’s separate line, not an interchangeable number.
