Notes#
Gedeng lies next to Mangzhi in Anle administrative village, Xiangming. It is the smallest of the six, with under 500 mu of old garden in steep, misty, rainy valleys. Qing sources (《普洱府志》, 《普洱茶记》) record a tall tea-king tree to which locals made offerings before picking — said to be the only such tree of the six mountains in official histories, and in legend planted by Zhuge Liang; it has since died.
