Notes#
Process. The Huoshan government’s 2026 account identifies menhuang, controlled yellowing, in the traditional craft.
Distinction. This fine yellow-tea style should not be conflated with Huoshan Huangdacha, the local large-leaf yellow tea with conspicuous stems.
Revival. Zhongguo mingchazhi (2000, p. 302) dates a local trial production to 1972 and organised market production to 1973. It also records a later development project beginning in 1987. The present name thus carries a history of recovery and technical development, rather than proving that manufacture remained unchanged from ancient tribute tea.
