Identity and history#
The current enterprise is Hunan Baishaxi Tea Factory Co., Ltd. A 2023 Hunan Daily report, republished by the provincial industry department, dates the factory to 1939. This is the historical factory date; the incorporation date of the present joint-stock company has not been established here.
Teas and brands#
Baishaxi is associated with Anhua dark tea, including Anhua black brick tea, Fu brick tea, Anhua Qianliang tea and Anhua Tianjian. The 2023 report describes black-brick production and practical demonstrations of the other three forms at the factory. These are distinct tea forms within its production tradition, not interchangeable names for a single recipe.
