A style that crosses regional boundaries#
The Taitung agricultural extension material describes honey-aroma black tea as a specialty of eastern Taiwan, while New Taipei documents its production in Sanxia. The style is therefore not confined to the Sun Moon Lake region.
Honey aroma and tea category#
Honey describes the naturally developed aroma in these accounts, rather than an added ingredient. Oriental Beauty also uses leafhopper-affected material, but it is an oolong; this profile concerns black-tea manufacture. A honey note alone does not establish how a retail tea was made.
