aged yancha

Literal meaning

aged + rock tea

Definition#

Aged yancha: rock tea kept for years, usually with periodic re-roasting to control moisture, valued for mellow, smooth and medicinal-woody notes. 老岩茶 (old rock tea) is used informally with the same meaning. The 2026 standard reportedly lets producers set their own shelf life, which accommodates aged yancha.
