true-cultivar Tieguanyin
Literal meaning
true + bush
Definition#
'True bush': in Taiwan, 正欉鐵觀音 is Tieguanyin made from the Tieguanyin cultivar itself (locally 紅心歪尾桃), mainly in Muzha (Taipei), as against Tieguanyin-style tea made from other cultivars such as 硬枝紅心 (Shimen), 金萱 or 四季春. Tieguanyin plants were brought from Anxi to Taiwan by 張迺妙 and 張迺乾 in 1895-96.
