Notes#
A distinct plant selection#
A 2012 study of ten preserved Wuyi mingcong recorded differences in shoots, leaves and flowers, and placed Shui Jin Gui among the later spring-picking selections in that collection. This is relative phenology, not a fixed annual picking date.
Read the finished tea separately#
Shui Jin Gui identifies the plant; Wuyi rock tea supplies the processing context. A later-opening plant does not automatically mean inferior leaf. Roast and garden are details of the particular tea, not facts that follow from the cultivar’s name.
