Notes#
Community translations place Wuyuanjian at the southern foot of Matouyan, at about 342 m. Its water passes Lantang village (兰汤村), joins the Nine-Bend and Chongyang streams and then the Min River. It is closed in by steep rock, gets little direct sun, and is foggy and humid; soil is mainly fine, permeable gravel; wild flowers and shrubs are plentiful. A stone path along it dates from the Qianlong period, and tea gardens line both sides. This corrects the earlier description of it as running down toward Tianxin Temple. It was a zhengyan sampling site in the 2025 CASB study.
