| Pasha Hanyu Pinyin of 帕沙 | Hani (Aini) | Said to mean 'tall, straight forest' in Aini (vendor; Aini form not given) |
Pasha covers 61.78 km² between about 1,200 and 2,000 m, with six villager groups, 439 households and 1,879 people (2017 township page). Its ancient tea gardens total about 3,000 mu in five separate gardens, with trees said to be over 800 years old and the oldest planting traced (by local claim) to the Tang dynasty. Vendor notes say the Aini settled Pasha over 300 years ago from the Jinghong and Damenglong areas, that the name is Aini for 'tall, straight forest', and that the tea-producing zone is about 1,600–1,800 m (peak 1,850 m, average 1,700 m). The same vendor claims Pasha people founded the Banzhang settlement about 130 years ago (unverified). Coordinates are the OSM node 帕沙村 (do not confuse with a Pasha in Myanmar's Wa area further south).
