Notes#
Ningde has a humid subtropical climate with typhoons; mean annual temperature ranges from 13.4 to 20.2 °C and rainfall from 1,250 to 2,350 mm across the prefecture. Tea plantations covered 463 km² by 1999. Most people speak Eastern Min, and the She minority is a notable share of the population. Its two tea GIs on the EU–China list are 福鼎白茶 (Fuding white tea) and 坦洋工夫 (Tanyang Gongfu, Fu'an). Tanyang Gongfu making became a national intangible heritage item in 2021.
