History#
- 2006-12-28Yongchun Foshou (永春佛手) granted GI protection by AQSIQ (date per the Quanzhou government; a 2007 report says November 2006).
- 2008-10-01GB/T 21824-2008 地理标志产品 永春佛手 comes into force; the protected area is the whole of Yongchun County.

Notes#
Quanzhou was the starting port of the Maritime Silk Road into the Yuan period. Its tea weight comes almost entirely from Anxi County, the origin of Tieguanyin and of the GI 'Anxi Tie Guan Yin'. The Anxi College of Tea Science (part of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University) sits in the prefecture. Anxi itself lies between the trade hubs of Quanzhou and Xiamen, which journalists link to its merchants' outward-looking habits.
