sun-withering
Literal meaning
sun + green (leaf)
Definition#
Sun-withering: spreading fresh leaf in thin layers on bamboo trays or cloth in sunlight for a short time, the outdoor half of yancha withering. On overcast days it is replaced by indoor warm-air withering (加温萎凋). The same characters also name sun-dried maocha in Yunnan (晒青毛茶), a different context.
