Notes#
Jinggu lies in the Weiyuan River basin, a Lancang tributary, at 813-2,920 m. It has six towns and four townships, about 7,777 km² and 262,300 residents (2025). The county government names Jinggu Dabai (景谷大白茶) as its signature tea brand. It lists the county as one of China's top-100 tea counties and as a 'China white tea industry development demonstration county'. Minle town (民乐镇) is the centre of local tea training on Jinggu Dabai. All ten townships are in the pu'er GI area. The county also claims a 35.4-million-year-old fossil as evidence that tea originated here, a promotional claim not adopted here. Trade sources link Moonlight White (月光白) and the Yangta (秧塔) Dabai to Jinggu, but I could not confirm either in a source I could open.
