Notes#
Bangdong township covers about 194 km² with 13,804 people. It has seven administrative villages: Bangbao, Zhangzhen, Tuanshan, Heping, Weiping, Bangdong and Mangang. Bangdong Daxueshan rises on the west bank of the Lancang about 19 km from the Lincang seat. Its tea is described in the trade as thick and bitter-leaning with little astringency, from younger trees than Mengku. A trade column names Bangdong and neighbouring Matai as Lincang's best 'rock tea' (岩茶) areas, on stony slopes. Xigui, on the river slope, is the famous village. One account gives Bangdong's tea mountain about 5,000 mu.
