Notes#
Linxiang covers about 2,558 km² with 370,947 residents (2020). It has two subdistricts, one town, five townships (including Bangdong and Matai) and two ethnic townships, Nanmei Lahu and Pingcun Yi-Dai. The district was created in December 2003 from Lincang County and inaugurated in October 2004. Its tea fame rests on Bangdong township in the east, on the west bank of the Lancang. That area includes Xigui at only about 750 m and the Bangdong and Matai gardens, which a trade column calls Lincang's best 'rock tea' (岩茶) areas. The whole district is in the pu'er GI area. Annual mean temperature is about 17.8 °C and rainfall about 1,149 mm (seat).
