Xiaohusai ('little Husai') is a natural village of Gongnong; Dahusai ('big Husai') is a separate administrative village of Mengku. People's Daily (2019) notes that Xiaohusai's old gardens are better known because they are contiguous, while Dahusai's party secretary claims Dahusai has the larger old-tree area and more old trees.
Xiaohusai is a natural village of Gongnong administrative village in Mengku town, on the mid-slope below the main peak of Bangma (Mengku) Daxueshan, 34 km from the county seat and 15 km from the Mengku town government. In 2015 it had 184 households and 732 people, 327 of them Lahu. Its 1,150 mu of tea include 530 mu of trees over 100 years and 620 mu of younger gardens; Lincang Daily called it the county's largest and best-preserved cultivated old garden. Ten-odd households ran primary workshops in 2015, with over thirty more being built. Pre-Qingming old-tree fresh leaf reached 500 yuan per jin in 2014 and 1,000 in 2015, against an average of 70-80. Trade lists put it on the west half-mountain (西半山). A 2025 Yunnan Daily report calls it a Lahu tea mountain, where a returning graduate sells tea by live-stream. The Bingdao entry notes that some sellers stretch the Bingdao name to Xiaohusai.
