Notes#
Chiayi held about 14.1% of Taiwan's planted tea area in the late 2000s and about 14% of output in 2013. Its best-known tea is high-mountain oolong from the mountain townships (Meishan, Zhuqi's Shizhuo, Alishan). 'Alishan high-mountain tea' carried a regional certification mark early: about 26,324 labels had been issued by the end of 2008. In 2021 a plan was made to move TRES's head office to Fanlu township and add a Meishan station.
